Net Men Nose Out Prospect
The varsity netmen outracketed the Prospect team on the home courts, 3-2, last Tuesday. Played in a whipping wind, the outcome rested on the third singles match.

Cliff Vogel, first singles, beat Bob Gewecke in three sets; 6-1, 2-6, and 6-1. The first doubles team of Bob French and Bob Poyer took their match in two; 6-3 and 6-4. In the last match, which turned out to be the deciding one, Jeff Clement won 6-4, 4-6, and 6-4, winning the meet for Maine.
Second doubles and second singles both lost. Jim Wencil and Claude Stewart were outpointed 7-5 and 7-5. Jim Richards lost 6-0 and 9-7.

In their first Conference meet the Warriors were beaten by Glenbrook South 3-2, on April 9th. Victories were posted by second doubles Wencil and Stewart, 6-3 and 6-4, and by first singles Poyer and French, 6-1 and 6-4. Cliff Vogel then lost in three sets.
