"Plans for 'Tahitian Twilight,' this year's Junior Prom, are in full swing. The committees are all working to full capacity to make this the greatest Prom that has ever taken place at Maine West," proclaimed Diane Dormeyer '65, prom chairman.
"The decor for the Prom is very exotic and exciting," states Diane, "and I'm sure that the turnout and success of the dance will be too great to be forgotten. All of the Prom committees have been great in doing their jobs. We all want a good Prom!"
The cafeteria will take on the scene of an island on May 23rd from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. The palm trees will sway to an eight‑piece orchestra in the cafeteria and a four‑piece combo on the terrace. Tropical fruit punch "cocktails" will be served in the grass hut bar, which will be in the social room.
Colored pictures of couples will be taken as couples stand in front of a cool tropical setting. The pictures will cost $4 for two 5x7 pictures in folders and two wallet‑size. They will be taken in the teachers' lounge all evening.
" 'Tahitian Twilight,' will be a very memorable school affair for the class of '65," asserted Diane.
