Mainites Win Scholarships
The Illinois State Scholarship Commission granted 7,335 scholarships to Illinois students, among whom were 35 from Maine West.
The winners from Maine West are Judy Bales, Tom Balma, Ray Bartholomae, Louis Bauman, Kathy Benson, Janis Bocskay, and Louise Brosseit.
Also Bruce Carlson, Diane Clarke, Bruce Congalton, Sherry Drager, Craig Ehlen, Val Enggas, Don Grundler, Davis Hall, Jim Hatfield, Lee Hayward, and Jeff Higgins.

Stipends of up to $750 a year to pay tuition and fee charges were awarded to 2,600 winners. The other 3,698 students received certificates of merit in recognition of their achievements.
