Second Arts Festival Promises Surprises!
This year's Fine Arts Festival, which was inaugurated last year, will be presented again on May 15th and 16th. Several attractions, however, have been added and are guaranteed to keep everyone in awe. The large crowd that attended last year's Festival proved its popularity.
Combining talents with the Music and Drama Departments, the Art Department will have a great variety of displays. "Also planned are a few surprises you must come to see," advised Mr. George Blanas, chairman of the department.
On May 16th, the Concert Band will play a selection of popular music under the direction of Mr. Robert Kuite, chairman of the Music Department. This will mark the first appearance of the Concert Band at the Festival. Also with the band will be selected ensembles performing on the main floor of the auditorium.
Unique lighting presentation will be a feature of the Festival again this year. Mr. James Killam, stage crew sponsor, and his group are planning special effects.
According to Mr. Garth Boyer drama coach, there will be a play given on each night which will be a one‑act play that is yet to be selected.
Rounding out the program will be choral numbers from Mr. Wilbur Schafer's groups. Beginning choruses will perform on Friday night and the more advanced groups on Saturday night.
