Stickmen Nail O.P. Huskies By 3 Strokes
The Maine West golf team will host the Spartans of Glenbrook North, Tuesday May 5th, at the Park Ridge Country club, with the meet starting at 4:15 p.m. This will be the 2nd Conference meet of the year for the West golfers. Tonight the golfers travel to Deerfield for the Conference opener.

The Westmen have had two meets this past week, defeating the Huskies of Oak Park, 338-335 at the Park Ridge course, and last Thursday, April 23rd, defeating the Wheaton Tigers 168-178.

In the Oak Park meet, those scoring for the Westmen were Steve Ross, Mike Krowka, Bob Pemoller, and Bob Means. In a golf meet five boys are sent from each school, and the combined scores of the four lowest scores determines the winner of the meet.
Against the Tigers of Wheaton, senior Mike Greene led the Warrior golfers, with a 39. Captain Hank Blenner shot a 40, Clyde Rowells shot a 44, and Steve Ross shot a 45.

Because the weather is so bad outdoors, the varsity golfers have been practicing their drives and iron shots indoors. After the Glenbrook North meet, the Warriors will face Prospect, which varsity head coach Mr. David Henry said, would be the toughest team that the varsity golfers will face in their drive for the Mid‑Suburban Conference championship.
