Varsity Trackmen Qualify 5 in
State Meet at Champaign Today
The varsity track team qualified five boys for the State Meet to be held today and tomorrow in Champaign. Rich Bokor, Bruce Congalton, Dale Luzinski, Tom Smith, and Bob Tatge all qualified in the District Meet held at Prospect High School on Saturday, May 9th.

Tie for Second

The Warriors, as a team, tied for second place with 21 points in the meet which Maine East won.

Bokor placed second in the 440‑yard dash while Tatge and Congalton qualified in the high hurdles, finishing second and third, respectively. Luzinski qualified in both the discus and shot put, taking first in the shot. Tom Smith placed fifth in the discus.

Other cindermen who placed in the meet, but did not qualify, are John Greco, fourth in the mile run, and Lloyd Schlegel, fourth in the 880‑yard run.

The next meet the ovalmen look forward to will be the Conference Meet held at Forest View on May 22nd. This will be the deciding meet in which a Conference champion will emerge.

On May 5th the tracksters stumped Deerfield 71‑47.
