Jean Wins Tennis Honors;
New GAA Officers Installed
Fourteenth ranking in Midwest United States and third in the Chicago area for youth 18 or under is an honor recently acquired by Jean Mead '64, from the United States Lawn Tennis Association.

Jean is a member of Des Plaines' Tennis Club, Oak Park Tennis Club (honorary membership), Junior Wrightman Cup Squad, and USLTA. Starting to hit tennis balls at the age of 8, Jean rose to be captain of the MW GAA tennis team 1962-64. She won her first trophy in 1957.

In 1963 she won the Oak Park championship, Des Plaines Open. Park Ridge Women's, Glencoe Invitational, and Oak Park's Best all‑around Player Award.

Jean plans to go to Illinois State Normal next year and major in physical education.
THE SWEARING IN of next year's officers was a highlight of the GAA banquet, May 22nd. They are Cheryl Hagedorn '65, president; Marilyn Jenks '65, vice‑president; Barb Kosac '65, secretary‑treasurer; and intramural chairman is Leora Winski '66.

Five awards were given according to points accumulated to Sue Hume '67; Leora Winski '66; Cheryl Hagedorn '65; and Pam Pagel '64.

The GAA tennis team was the first MW team to ever beat Evanston. The game was played May 25th at Evanston.
