West Finishes 2nd; Set 3 New Records
Despite finishing second to Prospect in Conference play, the West track team enjoyed a fine season, winning 10 while dropping only two.

Three individual Conference championships were earned by the tracksters, as John Greco in the mile run, Dale Luzinski in the shot put, and Lloyd Schiegel in the 880‑yard run all captured Conference firsts.

Bokor Places

Other points were gained by Rich Bokor, and Jerry Nebel who took 3rd and 5th, respectively, in the 100‑yard dash. Bob Tatge and Bruce Congalton finished 2nd and 3rd in the high hurdles. The 880‑yard relay team of Bernie Braun, Dick Kobylski, Paul Neuman, and Nebel came in 2nd with a new school record. Bokor set a new school record in the 440‑yard dash while placing 4th. Tatge and Wayne Wysoglad finished 4th and 5th, respectively, in the low hurdles.
Greco Breaks Record

Greco's effort in the mile run also gave him the school record. Larry Pintuck placed 3rd in the pole vault while Jim Bullerman tied for 4th. In the discus throw, Tom Smith and Luzinski placed 3rd and 4th for the thinclads. Nebel finished 2nd in the broad jump with Neuman right behind in 3rd. Neuman also placed 2nd in the high jump.

Rosenbergh 4th

Bill Rosenbergh finished 4th in the shot put, which Luzinski won. In the 220‑yard dash, Bernie Braun placed 5th. The meet ended with Prospect winning the mile relay. The cindermen finished in fourth place in that event. Bokor, Schlegel, Bob Biggs, and Pete Schafft did the running.
