Dress Code Is Necessary
What is the proper dress code for a Maine West student? The question is one that every student at Maine should be able to answer. It is up to the students to give Maine a good reputation, because everyone wants a school that he can be proud of.

The school needs a dress code because it is necessary for a school to have a certain amount of uniformity. A school can't allow some students to dress sloppily and thereby degrade the neat students. Students, therefore, need a dress code to follow.

Conduct and appearance are considered to be closely related. When students look properly dressed, their conduct and general attitude is much better than when they are less neat in appearance.
The girls at Maine are to wear their skirts at midkneecap length and are not to wear divided skirts of any type. Make‑up should be applied lightly, not so heavily that it is obvious. Unless their stacks are designed to be worn beltless, boys are to wear belts. They should also wear shirts buttoned and shirtails tucked in.

The student who is not willing to accept the dress code and continues to dress improperly is not only giving an unfavorable impression of himself, but he is also being unfair to other students.
