Tryouts Lack School Spirit

The tryouts for "Willie the Warrior" were pathetic. We should be proud to have a symbol representing our school at sports events, but if the participation at the try-outs were any indication of school spirit, our spirit is at a low ebb. A total of nine judges made the overpowering total of two students seem microscopic. Isn't it enough that we're the only school around without a traditional symbol ?

The judges accepted the proposition that "Willie" be made a seasonal symbol. A new "Willie" will be selected for the basketball season.

When the time comes around for another tryout, let's hope there will be more interest and participation.
