Intramurals Well Started
For the past two weeks, intramural participants have been playing golf, tennis, and a round robin tourney of football.
In the senior competition, nine teams turned out for football. Through elimination, Cliff Vogel's team and Scott Weidner's squad played for the championship, Tuesday, October 1. Results on this will appear in the next issue. Also, the juniors will start tourney competition Tuesday. The sophomores will get under way October 8th, and the freshmen, October 15th.
Results of the golf playoffs show that the freshman class winner was Cliff Haka, who shot a 55. He was followed by Tom Beck and Dick Wenz who both shot 63's.
The sophomores were led by Bruce MacDonald, who shot a 98. Randy Black followed him with a 102. The seniors also got under way with Scott Mackey and Richard Wills finishing in a dead heat. A playoff between these two will decide the champion.
On the intramural calendar these dates are important: October 11th, a free swim, and on October 16th, there will be a cross country meet for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The competition will be on a class basis.
"There is still plenty of room for boys who want to play intramurals. If you want to join, ask your gym teacher how you can sign up," informed Mr. Miley Hotchkiss, director of intramurals.
