Hall of Fame New at MW
Giving honor to athletes of high esteem, is one of the purposes of Maine West's new Hall of Fame. It is located on the wall to the right of the attendence office.

The initial idea for a Hall of Fame was brought to Maine West by Mr. Olson, of the boys' physical education program.

Al Waters '63, is the first Maine West athlete to be elected to the Hall of Fame. He was elected because of the good quality of his school work and his fabulous efforts on the various sports fields.
Last year's state championship baseball team will be entered into the Hall of Fame as a team, because of the great team effort shown in winning the title.

A committee of coaches nominate players eligible for the Hall of Fame. A vote is then taken. "If in a certain year we have more than one team that becomes state champs, both teams will be entered into the Hall .)f Fame," adds Coach Olson. "Any boy who sets a state or national record and meets all other requirements, will also be entered in the Hall of Fame."
