"Education Strengthens the Nation" is the theme of this year's American Education Week. The theme is so very true when the future abilities and strengths of a country are measured by the education that her children receive now. If the teachers and forms of teaching are out‑dated or weak, then the students will have received an inadequate education and therefore will not be able to completely cope with local and world problems that will arise. If on the other hand the education received is taught by highly qualified instructors and the courses are on their highest level, we will have received the most complete education possible, one that will continue to grow with years.

The President has denoted the second week in November, this year being November 10 to 16, as the week to pay tribute to our nation's educators and to schools of learning. Since 1921 the observance of American Education Week has been an annual event.
