VOL. V, NO. 4
Maureen Thrilled As Queen
Steve To Major in Medicine
"I feel wonderful. I just can't believe it!" exclaimed Maureen Quinn '64, this year's Homecoming queen.
Maureen is 5 feet 3 inches tall, has green eyes, blonde hair, and is usually seen chewing gum.
She has been very active during her four years at Maine West. Maureen has participated in Pep Club, GAA, Class Council, V‑Show, and Student Council. During her junior year, Maureen was a member of the pom‑pom squad and received a Brotherhood Society award. She also represented the junior class at the Christmas Formal. This year Maureen is Student Council's good‑will chairman.
Maureen loves all sports and also enjoys dancing and modeling. She models for Marshall Fields and Sears and Robuck. Maureen enjoys modeling, because it gives her a chance to meet and learn about people. She also enjoys history and English.
When asked what she disliked most, Maureen answered, "I hate rumors!"
Being elected Homecoming queen was Maureen's most exciting memory of her years at Maine West.
After being asked what she would like to change about herself, Maureen answered, "I would try not to be such a scatterbrain."
Maureen was also asked to disclose her most embarrassing moment. To this she replied, "I've had so many, I just don't know which was the most embarrassing!"
After graduation Maureen plans to attend college and major in either psychology or elementary education. However, she is still undecided as to the college she will attend.

"Figaro" is the name of a siamese cat that no doubt knows everything, including some personal secrets of his master, who is presently an energetic student by the name of Steve Ross '64. If "Figaro" could talk he would probably tell some of the following facts ,about Steve:
Steve Ross, who came to Maine three years ago, was originally born in Macomb, Illinois. Today he is a prominent figure among his fellow classmates. Steve, a bright‑eyed senior whose personality and sense of humor are beaming all over, has not only attained scholastic achievement but athletic achievement as well.
Steve is still trying to get over the shock of how, on his first day of school (here at Maine), he made a wrong turn down B wing and was late to his first class. Since then he has become a whole‑hearted member of the M‑Club, and has received the executive position of vice‑president in Key Club.
What really burns Steve up is "Girls who could be cute, but wear too much make‑up and ridiculous hairstyles." As of the moment he is just a 'happy‑go‑lucky boy playing the field with girls.
After graduation Steve is going to pre-med school at Northwestern University. Steve's present interests lean toward girls, varsity golf, and numismatics. Furthermore, when Steve was first told he had been named as a semi-finalist in the 1963-64 Merit Scholarship competition, all he could say about this great accomplishment was "Really!"
