Warrior Of The West
Six touchdowns is the scoring record for this week's Warrior of the West, Cal Lewis. Cal is a letterman in football and is a member of the state champion baseball team.

Cal's scoring this year has been a great help to the team. He scored touchdowns against West Leyden, Glenbrook North, Prospect, and Decatur‑Eisenhower. In the Niles West game, Cal passed for his only touchdown through the air.

When asked which team he thought was the toughest opponent in football this year, he replied, "Decatur‑Eisenhower because they hit the hardest."

Tomorrow the Warriors take on undefeated Deerfield for the Mid‑Suburban Championship. Some predictions made by Cal were, "The team who hits the hardest, will win." He also stated that if our boys are really ready, and really want to win, they will be the victors.
In giving advice to other boys thinking about going out for football next year, Cal said they should start training now by going out for other sports in order to keep in good condition. They should keep busy in activities and keep up good grades.

Maine has held a lot of memories for Cal. Some of the more important ones are being a member of the state champion baseball team and playing with such outstanding players as Chip Allen, Al Waters, and Dan Humay. Other memories are homecomings, and crown for two years, the Queen.

Cal is very busy in other school activities, this year the most important being Senior Class President.
