THE ANNUAL AWARDS night to honor football and cross country participants will be sponsored by Dads' Club next Tuesday, November 19, in the auditorium beginning at 7:30 p.m. "All students, parents, and friends are invited to attend," said Mr. James Lunsford, president of the club. The evening will be topped off with refreshments in the cafeteria.

DON'T MISS the M‑Club, Faculty annual basketball game. It will be played at Maine East, Wednesday, November 20.

WRESTLING SEASON IS HERE AGAIN. The varsity grapplers begin their season at home against the Barrington Broncos on November 23. The team has six returning lettermen from last year's. squad. They are Jim Cichowski, Erv Geisler, Dick Jensen, Jim Keller, Ed Riedel, and Mike Tompkins. Coach Richard Carlini feels his team has a good chance in conference action and has the type of nucleus that makes a great squad. In all there 120 boys out for wrestling this year.

THE JV GRIDDERS FINISHED the '63 football season Saturday, Nov. 2nd by downing Deerfield with a score of 20-7. This broke the three-game losing streak which had been plaguing them since the middle of the season. Both teams had trouble hanging on to the ball in the start of the game. Maine was the first to score when John Wahlen carried the ball for 23 yards for the first touchdown. Wahlen scored again for West from the 12-yard line. In the fourth quarter, Wahlen threw a touchdown pass to Dick Braun from the 17. Wayne Azon kicked for two out of three extra points. In the last play of the game, Bernie Braun caught an onsides kick and ran 64 yards before he was knocked out of bounds on the Deerfield 7-yard line. Time ran out before there was time for another play. With this last victory under their belts, the JV's finished the season with a 4-3-1 record.

THE SOPHOMORE GRIDDERS FINISHED a successful season by trouncing Deerfield, 31-0, giving them a record of 7-1 and putting them in 2nd place. Tounchdowns were made by Ryden, Hansch, Martin, Kautz, and Pabich. During the season, Ryden led the team in touchdowns with 11, and Hansch was second with 3. The sophomores scored 134 points against their rivals' 34.

THE FROSH GRIDDERS FINISHED their season by defeating Deerfield 32-0. Touchdowns were scored by Mandelky (2), Romness (2), and Fulbright. Extra points were made by Olson and Mandelky. The freshmen finished their conference season with a 4 and 1 record, which was good enough to tie for the conference championship. This year they scored 144 points in 7 games, and allowed only 73 points to be scored against them. Their seasonal record is 5-2, having lost to Niles West and Forest View. Coach Atkinson cites, "The squad has made a tremendous improvement since the beginning of the year and should be even better in the future."
