VOL. V, NO. 5
"Being on the state championship baseball team was my most exciting experience here at Maine," was the reply of Chuck Esposito, this week's Warrior of the West.
This year Chuck is being awarded his second letter in football. He was an important asset to the team as both an offensive and defensive halfback. Besides football, Chuck participates in basketball as a guard, and in baseball at shortstop.
There is no doubt that this year's football team was one of Maine's greatest, as they went on to capture the conference title. But what about the success of other athletic teams? Chuck was asked to comment upon the strength of this year's basketball and baseball teams. He predicted, "I think the basketball team will be pretty strong with the upcoming juniors, who are so far undefeated. We have a very good chance for another Conference championship. I also think this year's baseball team will be strong, but not as strong as last year's, since we've lost some great pitching." In his opinion, the most important asset to any team is plenty of hard work.
Along with sports, which make up the major part of Chuck's activities, he is also president of the Brotherhood Society. Although he has no particular hobbies, entertaining a certain senior girl takes up much of his spare time. Girls who wear too much make‑up and wild hair‑dos seems to be Chuck's biggest dislikes.
