The Temporary Bliss
At Christmas Time
By Sue Olson '66

A touch of joy,
A touch of cheer,
These at Christmas both appear.

A sprig of holly,
The scent of pine,
Snowflakes fragile in design.

The smiling faces,
And happy crowds,
The carolers singing strong and loud.

Santas plump,
With noses red,
How'd they get so overfed?

The busy shoppers,
The ringing bell
Cast a magical, joyous spell.

An air of kindness,
A shroud of peace,
Warmth from the soul release.

A touch of joy,
A touch of cheer,
These should preside throughout the year.
