Brotherhood Assembly
To Finish Week
Brotherhood Week has been designated to be February 3rd through 7th this year. President of the Brotherhood Society, Chuck Esposito '64, explained that activities for the week will start with tags being handed out and posters placed in the halls.
Voting for new members of the Society will be held either Tuesday or Wednesday, February 4th or 5th. The traditional assembly will be given on Friday, February 7th, with Mr. Les Brownlee as the speaker.
Mr. Brownlee is an experienced newsman having worked on The Chicago Defender, The Daily News, and The Chicago American. He is presently working as vice‑chairman of the Illinois Commission on Human Relations.
Assemblies will be first period for freshman, second period for juniors, and third period for seniors and sophomores.
Secretary Paula Clayton suggests that the students be thinking about whom they intend to vote for in advance of the voting day. The purpose of the Society is to honor those persons who live up to the principles of brotherhood.
The activities for the week are under the control of the various committee chairmen. These chairmen are Patti Kargas '64, tags; Bob Kunkle '65, counting; Jim Carley '64, publicity; and Cal Lewis '64, ballots.
