"Results‑Not Excuses." This is the motto followed by all members of the Maine West Audio‑Visual Club, whose main job is taking care of all films received by the school.

This organization meets daily. It doesn't have established officers, but it does have heads of departments. Ted Strand '64, is the operation manager. He makes sure all films get to their proper rooms. Margie Beck '64, is the executive secretary. She is in charge of keeping records of all films received and any other paper work that may come in. The graphic artist is Beth Radcliffe '66. She makes up material for the mimeoscope.

"To make teaching as easy and effective as possible is one of the main ideas behind our service club," remarked Mr. Brownell, head of the organization. Every year the club goes on a sponsored field trip, such as a visit to some company like WGN Studios or Allied Radio. The afternoon is taken up at a movie with dinner afterwards.

Almost anyone interested in joining this club may do so when help is needed. The student must maintain at least a C‑average. Right now a couple of secretaries are needed, preferably girls. Good art talent can also be used.
Volleyball and gymnastics are next quarter GAA sports, Pam Pagel '64, announced that the new quarter will open the gym to any girl interested in tumbling, trampoline, horse, balance beam, uneven parallel bars, and volleyball.

The GAA badminton tournament is over. Barb Colberg and Leora Winski '66, beat Jan Virostko '64, and Gloria Frank '65, in the final doubles match. The winners took two out of three games. The singles' match found Jan Virostko beating Cheryl Hagedorn '65, for the championship. The game with the faculty will be January 24.

Friday, January 17, the GAA presented its annual Daddy Daughter Deal. Highlights of the evening were versatile physical education teacher Miss Kay Pierce playing the piano; GAA Senior Board members presenting a "kooky" skit; and everybody swimming and eating refreshments.
