CLUBBING AROUND
MW Clubs Show School Spirit
Industrial Arts Club
Any student taking industrial arts is eligible to join the Industrial Arts Club, which meets every Thursday in room D‑102.
Some of the functions of the club are parties, discussions, and outside speakers, but many other projects are being planned for this year. One of the achievements of the past year was the decorating of the display window near A‑wing.
Officers are Chuck Rasmus '64, president; Jack Ayres '65, vice‑president; Al Rateike '65, treasurer; and Dennis Demsey '65, secretary. 'Mr. Roy Hulfachor, Mr. Pelikan, and Mr. Matkovic are the club's sponsors.
Modern Dance
The Modern Dance Club will teach any girl form and grace and the methods of interpretive dance. The club meets each Monday in C‑wing gym and has a current membership of 25 girls.
"We ask anyone who has an interest in modern dance to join our club," commented Miss Marlene Paset, sponsor. The club is currently working on the study of choreography. "We hope Ito put on an entire modern dance show next year," Miss Paset added.
The Modern Dance Club has performed at many school functions since it was organized, and the girls are going to perform at the Open House this spring.
Boys' Bowling Club
About 56 boys have been participating in Boys' Bowling Club this year. They have been bowling at Sim's alleys every Monday at 4:15 p.m. since October.
Officers were elected in November and are Bill Wagner '64, president; Ken Pauline '65, vice‑president; and Lee Hayward '64, secretary. Mr. Walter Hommerding and Mr. Fred Bencriscutto are the sponsors.
A banquet will be held at the conclusion of the bowling year. Forty or more awards and trophies will be presented to the top teams and individual bowlers.
January 20th ended the first round of bowling with these results; Team five, Schmidt's Four, was first; the Four Deuces were second; and the Mets, Reds, and Four Aces tied for third. Team five had the high series of 2,338, and team two had the high game of 846.
Wayne Azon '64, bowled the high game with a 225, John Arkoos '64, has the high series of 591, and Lou Hacker '65, is leading in the averages with a 163.7.
The men's faculty has challenged the club to a match in the near future.
