Karen Enjoys Swimming
"Good glorious gladiolas" is an expression which Karen Strudthoff finds she uses much too often.

This blue‑eyed 5 foot 6 inch brunette senior leader has been quite active in school activities. She participated in V‑show for three years and plans to make this year no exception. Ice skating in the winter and driving her 1952 blue "bomb" to school are a few of Karen's pastimes. She likes swimming the most. She should, because she is this year's Aquiana president.

Karen recalled that her proudest moments were when she was chosen as a semi‑finalist for the Illinois State Scholarship and when the baseball team took the Illinois State Championship.

Karen feels that Maine is a great school, although she thinks many times the qualities of this school are taken for granted.

As Aquiana president she would like to say that she doesn't think the Aquiana show could have been the success it was without the experienced guidance of its sponsor, Miss Dawn Butler. "I hope," says Karen, "that Aquiana will continue to have the reputation of putting on a great water show."
