| Enrollment Dips As South Opens | ||||||||
| The number of students attending Maine West tumbled from last year's all-time high of 3,240 to this year's 2,843. This represents a loss of almost 400 students, most of whom went to Maine South. This year the freshmen hold the distinction of being the largest class, having 757 students. The seniors follow with 745. In the Sophomore Class there are 706, and the juniors trail with only 635. Even with the transfer of students to Maine South and other schools, the enrollment here is still larger than expected. |
