| Junior Varsity Cheerleaders Announced | ||||||||||
| Leading the cheers at football and basketball games this year will be the new Junior Varsity cheerleaders Kathy Altergott '68, Joy Carley '68, Jan Erickson '67, Nancy Gunn '67, Pat Radlein '67, and Delores Webster '67. The girls tried out Wednesday, September 15th, after three days of clinics to learn the cheers. There were around 70 girls who tried out, and they were judged by Miss Karen Adolph, and the six Varsity cheerleaders. Then 20 girls were selected for the finals, and it was narrowed down to six. The girls were judged on their pep, voice, jumping, cheering, personality, coordination and rhythm, school representation, and the personal reaction of the judges. |
When asked about their reactions the girls seemed surprised and happy. Here are some of their reactions: Jan, "I was so shocked and surprised! I really couldn't believe it. It's all like a dream." Delores, "I was really surprised. I didn't believe it at all!'' Pat, "It's kind of unbelievable. I'm really excited!" |
