| "We'll be presenting three one-act plays this spring," disclosed Bill Strand president of Thespian Society. "One at the initiation of new members, one at the Fine Arts Festival, and one at Maine South, where Maine East and Maine West will also be represented." Bill, who is interested in drama, plans to attend North Central College, Naperville, Illinois. He has been an active member of "Footlighters," Des Plaines' young theatre group, which is planning to present "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" sometime this spring. When asked if he wanted to change anything about himself, Bill quickly replied, "My procrastination" It seems people greet him in the halls with, "Bill, know your lines?", instead of the usual "Hi!" |
His most embarrassing moment was his portrayal of Romeo in Mr Garth Boyer's drama class. Probably dear Mr. Shakespeare (Bill's favorite author) wouldn't have recognized his famed character. Besides leading Thespian Society, Bill is also president of German Club, which takes trips to see German movies and plays. From his experiences at Maine and through his high school years, he has learned real appreciation of people and ideas. He feels that the best thing about Maine is the faculty! |
