| "Quite a few students say that Brotherhood Society is a popularity contest, yet they don't realize that they're the people who vote the members in. If they want Brotherhood Society to change they'll have to change it. They refuse to respect the obligation of their right to vote," claims Paula Clayton '65. Paula Clayton is vice-president of the Brotherhood Society, is on Class Council, participated in V-show, and is an alternate in Choraliers. All of which she schedules around her motivating force, a certain John Bentley '65. 'P.J.' feels Maine's academics are great. "Chemistry I was such a good course; it was really nice to see what it would feel like to be really smart" Chem II is now her favorite subject Paula to campaign Paula simply can't believe the disregard that the students have for the care of the school building. |
Paula feels that this year will be her most exciting. She's to be Robin Swain's campaign manager for secretary in the coming SC elections. Making National Honor Society in her junior year was Paula's most thrilling experience "Is there anything I could change about myself? Well, probably; I've got a big mouth!" Also 'P.J.' feels her mental discipline could be improved. 'P.J.' Falls 'Coogle' and 'boogle' are Paula's favorite expressions. As for an embarrassing incident, hers occurred in her Latin I class. P.J. leaned over to pick up a piece of paper on the floor . . . she and the desk flew head over heels . . . bang! "People who are 'picky' with criticism" ranks as Paula's chief pet peeve. "I feel like an outcast because everyone has such cool hair, and mine's short and curly," sighs Paula. Her favorite hobbies are singing and playing baseball. She also has a sister who is marrying her "finance" in June. |
