Debate Squad Appears on TV's Rebuttal

The Maine West D e b a t e Squad is going to send four of its debaters to appear on the WBBM television program, Rebuttal, against Marian Central High School from Woodstock, Ill.

Representing Maine West will be Doug Bergman '67, J o y Heckenbach '66, Dawn Piotter '65, and Rob Reinhart '65. They will be coached by Miss Jean Poling, sponsor of the Debate Squad.

The topic under discussion will be "Resolved: That the personal property tax should be abolished." Maine West will be the affirmative side.
The debate will be taped on Monday, March 1st, at WBBM Station, Chicago, and will be broadcast on Saturday, March 20th. There will be a bus to take students to the station for the video taping. The bus will leave the school on Monday at 6:30 p.m. and will return to the school at 9:30 p.m. Tickets for the bus will be on sale in the bookstore, and the price will depend upon the number of students going.

Those students who go to the station will be allowed to see WBBM's studio, cheer for our debaters, and appear on television.

Lorna Seitz '65, editor of The Westerner, will also be present. She will give a one-minute talk in which she will describe Maine West for the viewers at home.
