Musclemen End Season |
||||||||||
| Closing the season with an excellent record, the varsity gymnasts will enter the Conference battle this weekend. The musclemen will be facing rough competition in the District meet on March 5th with 17 schools out to cop a victory, Coach Sid Drain's team should be able to finish high, since they wrapped up a winning season. If things go well, Maine West could be competing on March 12th and 13th for the State championship. | Maine was defeated at Niles West last Saturday as the Niles Warriors walked away with an 84-48 victory. The only Mainite taking a first place was Ray Mandel in tumbling. The team lost on all apparatus. The disheartening score on the trampoline and parallel bars was 16-6. Maine was on the short end of a 15-7 score on the sidehorse, 14-8 on the high bar, and 13-9 on the still rings. | |||||||||
