Swimmers 4th In the League |

| Last weekend at Glenbrook North high school the tankers took on Niles North, Deerfield, Forest View, Glenbrook North and South, Prospect, and Wheeling for the last Mid Suburban Conference competition of the season. Prior to the meet the Warriors stand fifth in the Conference after losses to Deerfield, Glenbrook North, Niles North, and Glenbrook South. In Conference competition, Glenbrook North fell to the Warriors, moving them to a tie for fourth in the Conference standings. On the varsity level, Warriors placed men in the 200-yard medley relay, the 50-yard freestyle, the 200-yard individual medley, diving, butterfly, and the freestyle relay. |
Warirors Hudson, Fulle, Gast, and Ladendorf placed third in the medley relay with a time of 1:49.4. Tom Wenzel placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in 24. flat. Reed Erven was "touched out" in the 200-yard individual medley, accepting a third to Steve Krasny and Rick Haayen. Reed's time was 2:18. 7, his best being 2:16.9, set at home against Deerfield. Greg "Gracie" Gundling surprised Maine's new diving coach, Mr. George Jorndt, along with everyone else, by placing third in diving, behind Deerfield divers Steve Berg and Ken Kanter. |
