Trackmen Defeat Taft

Tonight the Maine West trackmen take on a highly-rated Evanston team at Evanston starting at 4:15 p.m.

The varsity trackmen won their second dual meet of the year by defeating Taft 80-20. The Warriors took 10 first places out of 12.

Taking firsts were Rich Bokor in the 440 yd. dash, Wayne Wysoglad in both the high and low hurdles, John Greco in the mile run, Lloyd Schiegel in the 880 yd. run with a time of 1:58.3, Jerry Nebel in the broad jump, Phil Boyce in the pole vault with a 12 foot
vault, Tom Smith in the shotput, and the 4-lap relay team (Bernie Braun, Nebel, Vern Ray, and Bob Rosedale), and also the 8-lap relay team (Braun, Schiegel, Kevin Flurkey, and Bokor).

Wysoglad tied the school record in the low hurdles with a time of 6.1 seconds.

The cindermen swept the 440 yd. dash, the mile run, and the broad jump. The frosh-soph, track team whipped Taft 76-25 for their first victory of the season.
