'South Pacific' Cast Chosen

Tickets for South Pacific, April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are on sale in the bookstore and at Maria Schaeffer's. "They are selling like hotcakes!" according to Mr. Robert Kuite, chairman of the music department.

Rehearsals, too, are well underway, and casting is near completion. Student directors are Beth Radcliff '66, and Shirleen Ullray '65, and the language director is Sue Kalb '65.

Many of the parts are double or triple cast. The cast is listed in order of appearance. This list is subject to change and the addition of the dance chorus, which will be picked at a later date.

Noana will be played by Priscilia Suda, Cheryl Swanson, and Pam Triebe. Jerome will be played by Ray Martin, and Greg Nelson will play Henry.

The part of Ensign Nellie Forbush is triple cast and is being played by Debbie Quinn, Diane Dormeyer, and Harriet Hall. Dave Humphreys and Ed Newell will play Emile De Becque. Gail Horn, Kitty Kinser, and Mary Leonard will take the part of Bloody Mary.

Val Dawson and Arlette Dawson will portray Bloody Mary's assistants; Abner is played by Steve Wischweh; Stew Pot by Dick Schellin and Paul Owens. Kent Lashway and Mark Sorensen will share the role of Luther Billis; and Paul Hummel and Pat LaSalle will play the role of Lt. Joseph Cable. The Professor is played by Don Cameron. Capt. Geroge Brackett will be played by David Freer and Bob Sherwin; Commander William Harbison is portrayed by Jordan Minerva and Jim Thoma, and Doug Engstrom and Ken Thompson are playing Yeoman Herbert Quale. Jerry Tipperreiter is playing the part of Sgt. Kenneth Johnson, and Scott Evans will play the part of Seabee Tom O'Brien.
Other members of the cast include Paul Grant and Jim Pasternak as Seabee Richard West; Michael Dietz and John Powell as Seabee Morton West; Mark Burchard as radio operator; Bob McCaffrey, John Bentley, and Cliff Johnson as Marine Hamilton Steeves; Otto Quastoff as Staff Sgt. Thomas Hassinger; Dean Fricano and Dave Radloff as Pvt. Victor Jerome; Jim Christensen and Scott Siegfort as Pvt. Sven Larson; and John Harrigurge and Ken Lorentz as Sgt. Jack Waters.

Other students to be included in the play are Gail Groh and Linda Pinzke as Lt. Genevieve Marshal; Debbie lower and Twyla Van Vleet as Ensign Lisa Manelli; Kathy Munzer and Vickie Shine as Ensign Connie Walewska; Chris Birchfield and Carolyn Rormback as En-sign Janet McGregor; Carolyn Relph and Jane Swanson as Ensign Bessie Noonan; Sue Turner and Gayle Deckworth as Ensign Pamela Whitmore. Other female ensigns will be played by Carol Bis sing, Judi Sorowski, Sue Kalb, Sue Perry, Jill Schuster, Lois Wedell, Cheryl Fradette, Barb Schell, Laura Nielson, and Linda Waters.

Donna Hostetler, Connie Lambrecht, and Cindy Schorr have been chosen for the part of Liat, the beautiful Tahitian girl. Marcell will be played by Bill Jonas, and Lt. Buzz Adams will be portrayed by Richard Cornelius and Kenn Hempel. Hayes will be played by Tyler Giles.

Members of the chorus singing in South Pacific are Gloria Anderson, Elaine Bacos, Julie Balderama, Donna Carison, Barbara Drill, Doug Fager, Dave Glade, Cathy Greene, and Elma Hall. Other members included are Gary Kalas, Kendra Koehler, Ken Korn, Rosie O'Grady,
