AFS Project Inspires Club

With Ten Prochaska '65, presiding, the newly formed AFS Club opened its first meeting Thursday, March 11th.

Reasons for forming the club were discussed by Ten and Carla Fasting, Maine's foreign exchange student. First, any student in the club who is chosen as a foreign exchange student will be able to travel to the southern hemisphere. Secondly, and most important the members will have reduced rates.
The first important activity of the club will be meeting with the Des Plaines AFS board March 23rd, at 7:30 p.m. in R-104. At this meeting homes will be selected for the 45 exchange students stopping in Des Plaines for the July 4th weekend this summer. The students will come from all over the country on their way to Washington, D. C.

The club has been formed especially for foreign-exchange minded students, but anyone interested in the AFS program is urged to join.

"Now is the time to plan for your AFS future," advised Ten.
