Mike Amling Scores High |

| "With a team score in the math contest of 245.50, Maine West will definitely place in the state's top 10 schools," assured Mr. Dan Farris Maine West's contest coordinator. Fifty-six students entered the contest, which was held March 4th. The top five scores in this year's contest were made by Mike Amling '65, 107.75; Ron Pazdra '65, 77.25; Paul Norris, '65, 60.50; Dick Cornelius '65, 47.00; and Barbara Gundelach '65, 45.50. |
The highest possible score on the test was 150. Any student achieving 80 points or above is awarded a Certificate of Merit. Competition is on a team basis (three highest scores) and on an individual basis. The top score in each school receives a mathematics pin. Mike Amling will receive a silver medal this year for being Maine West's winner for three consecutive years. The team and individual competitions take place on three levels, state, regional, and national. |
