Businessmen Donate Time

A "Day on the Job" is being offered to Maine on April 13th. The Des Plaines Kiwanis, presided over by Mr. Herman Rider, is sponsoring this project.

Participating students will have an opportunity to work during the entire day with engineers and business executives from various fields. They will observe what is required of a person employed in the field they have chosen and thereby gain some insight into what is expected of them in the modern business world.

The following Kiwanis members have offered their time to this worthwhile program: Mr. Bernie Borsche and Mr. John Lee of Ken Chemicals; Mr. Robert O'Grady of Central Heating Co.; Mr. C. J. Lauer of Lauer Insurance Agency; Mr. Max Sawyer of
First National Bank; Mr. Ed Fletcher a Des Plaines City Engineer; Mr. Ralph Martin of Kunkel Realtors; and Mr. Tom Wright of Wright Animal Hospital.

Also Dr. Fred Levin, optometrist; Dr. Harold Pellett, dentist; Mr. Robert Young of Universal Oil Co.; Mr. Everett Calloway of Illinois Employment Service; Dr. Colby, optometrist; Mr. John Powers of General Telephone; Mr. Howard Consh of Des Plaines Motors; and Mr. Vince Ralph of Middle States Telephone.

All the positions have already been filled by students through the aid of their counselors. "Those interested in future programs, should contact their counselors," said Gordon Scherer, president of Key Club.
