Girls' Domestic Skills Honored

"Recognized girls, who have won honors in home economics, and their mothers are invited to the Home Economics Department Tea in R-104, April 29th from 3:30 p.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m.

An invitation is extended to any teacher at Maine West," mentioned Mrs. Lucille Stiles, Home Economics Department chairman. "Casual dress will he appropriate for this affair."

The two girls who won awards were Donna Batdorf '65, who won the "Betty Crocker Search for Homemakers of Tomorrow," and Jeanne Higgins '65, who was the winner of the "Cherry Pie" contest sponsored by Northern Illinois Gas Company.
A program will be performed for the entertainment of the girls and their guests. Refreshments will consist of tea and punch. To highlight the tea, plaques will be presented to the award-winning girls.

"Girls in the Home Economics Club, whose president is Barb Gundelach '65, will be hostesses at this gala affair.

In all, approximately 50 girls are expected to be present at the tea," added Mrs. Stiles.
