| Bob French, one of Maine's star racketmen, stands six feet tall and weighs 140 lbs. Bob feels that his best match was in the Conference finals when he and Bob Poyer won the doubles title. In tennis, "you meet a lot of people and make friends." Bob, who has thus far lettered once in tennis, sees great possibilities for this year's team. He feels that the Conference race will be close, but that MW will rank among the top three schools. |
"In tennis," says Bob, "the players have to work together as well as individually." In his opinion, running is the hardest part of training. Bob plans to attend college at Western Illinois, where he wants to take an active part in sports. Jim Richards, another tennis star, is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 104 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. He has been on the honor roll four times and has lettered once in both cross country and tennis. |
