Maine Wins Art Awards |

| Six very talented art students from Maine West have won national art awards in New York competition. The winners are Michael Brennan '66, Medalist in Transparent Water Color; James Brondy '65, Honorable Mention in Sculpture; John Kennett '65, Honorable Mention in Sculpture; Patricia Mashburn '65, Medalist in Sculpture; Kathleen Rice '66, Honorable Mention in Collage; Marcia Surrikoff '65, Medalist in Block Print. | The competition for this event began in a regional Scholastic Art Awards contest sponsored by Wieboldt's at Randhurst, which was held during the months of February and March. Fifty Maine West students were awarded gold keys and 20 won blue ribbons. From May 10th to May 28th, blue ribbon winning pieces will be on display in New York. |
