'Emerald City' is Prom Theme |
||||||||||
| "This year's Junior Prom should be a great success because we have unusual decorations and a lot of hard working people working on the plans," explained Betty Riska '66, chairman. Other committees are: entertainment, Fran Urban '66; decorations, Nancy Carlson '66; refreshments, Linda Waters '66; and publicity, Barb Nixon '66. The theme of "Emerald City" is taken from the story "Wizard of Oz." There will be a castle around the center post in the cafeteria, and dry ice blown by fans will give the illusion that the castle is on a cloud. There will be a field of poppies on the patio, and life-size figures of the characters will be scattered around the room. |
In the social room "Munchkins" will be serving cookies and punch, and they will also open the doors to the "Emerald City." The Bob Over band will play and entertain from a bandstand decorated as the balloon of Oz. Patio entertainment has not been chosen yet. The big day for the juniors is May 22nd, and the time is 8 p.m. "Anyone interested in decorating for the Prom should fill out a sheet which one of the committee members has and be at school early Saturday morning," said Betty. |
