Library Week Observed
at Maine

"Know What You're Talking About - Read" is the theme of this year's National Library Week. National Library Week is now being observed at Maine West. The library extends its invitation to all students to visit the library to increase their knowledge.

Many students have volunteered to become workers in the library. At present, 35 students are assistants, but "more are always needed," mentioned Mr. Willis Lindeman, head librarian.

To become a library assistant, obtain an application from the desk clerk in the library. All "C" average students are eligible.
"We appreciate the students working for the library in their free time. These volunteers offer their service to perform non-technical duties. This is a real opportunity to become better acquainted with library materials," continued Mr. Lindeman. "Familiarizing oneself with the library will be very beneficial in college."

Books are always being added to the library for the students' convenience. Topics that are of special interest to students now are civil rights, medicare, and three-act plays.

"Approximately 800 students are in the library at one time of the day or another. I am very glad that MW students are using their library effectively," added Mr. Lindeman.
