Knees To Be Unveiled June 7 |

| By Dan Barry "Good day ladies and gentlemen; this is Bret Huntley. "And David Brinksley. "Bringing you an NCB special day report. The scene of our show today, "Eye on Youth," is a beautiful, new, mid-western high school, Maine Township West; a thriving high school of strife-torn Chicago suburbia. Isn't that right, David?" ''Yes, Bret.'' "Today we are going to show the other side of the coin of teenage life. We have with us a typical Maine West student, whose name we have withheld to protect his girlfriend." "Son, I notice you are wearing a parachute-yellow, inside out sweatshirt over a horse-hair shirt, a pair of velvet, maroon Bermuda shorts, madras garters, no socks, and a pair of high heeled combat boots. My question is, what are you, crazy or something?" |
"No, man. I am definitely the most intelligent person at this institution, and I resent that insinuation!" "Why are you dressed in this manner, son?" "It is symbolic of man's inhumanity to man, a state of affairs which I detest, dad." "I see. Is it not true that today is June 7th, and is this not senior shorts day? Is this not the true reason you are so ridiculously dressed?" "Mr. Huntley, you see straight through me. Today is June 7th, senior-initiated, underclassman copied, and faculty-despised Senior Bermuda Day! "Well ladies and gentlemen, as you can see we need not despair. Our country's destiny lies in the hands of intelligent and competent people. This is Bret Huntley. . . ."And David Brinksley. . "Bidding our viewers good day." |
