Rev. Grant Scheduled For May 27th Speech

"Proposals for a Peaceful World" is the topic on which Rev. G. Grant, professor of Philosophy at Loyola University will speak. Rev. Grant will address a Social Science assembly during 8th period on May 27th in the auditorium. All social science students and any other interested students with 8th period free are welcome to come.

Rev. Grant is coming here in conjunction with the "Law's Foundation," an organization which has operated at Maine West this year. The "Law's Foundation" is a program which is attempting to promote world peace. Maine West was a recipient of a $1,000 grant from this organization.
Number one was chosen as the new Alma Mater. This represents six years of effort on the part of the Student Council to adopt an Alma Mater into the traditions of Maine West. Congratulations are in order for the hard work that was put in by the committee. Jim Kahn '65, headed the committee of Harriet Hall '66, Bruce Jacobsen '65, and Brian Dole '65.


The Junior Prom, "The Emerald City," will be held May 22nd, from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. The Bob Over Dance Band will provide music for dancing.

All juniors are invited to attend. One member of the couple must be a junior and must present his I.D. card at the door.
