The World Opens Its Doors |
||||||||||
| Graduation brings a world of opportunity to every senior who will be getting a diploma this June. But, as the realistic generation of today is well aware of, the "whole wonderful world of opportunity" is not going to magically open its doors and fulfill its every goal and aspiration. But wait! Slow down a minute and take a look around. You have a lifetime ahead of you, why rush through the best years of your life? This is the time to look at yourselves and those around you; a time to examine and reevaluate those goals and aspirations. You've been taught by one of the finest school systems. You've been taught morals, to go to church on Sunday, to salute the flag, and almost everyone of those goals and aspirations you now have. This is the time for you to take a look at your beliefs and decide what you really want out of life. The transition between childhood and |
maturity, that step between the diploma and the time that there's direction and purpose in life, affords the time and chance for this re-evaluation. At college and in the world of business, there are people who do know where they're going; they know what life holds for them. Make sure you're firm in your beliefs when you encounter these people. Make sure your life has direction. When you talk of your future, make sure that you're not reciting the plans and aspirations of your parents and educators. As the realistic generation of today also knows, the world can be yours, if you know what kind of a world you want. The world is going to be yours. What will you do with it? |
