Dept. Gives Industrial Awards

Industrial Education students were presented awards for outstanding work on May 26th at 7:30 p.m.

Maine West Industrial Education students received more awards than most other schools in the regional Industrial Education exhibits held at De Kaib, Illinois. Boys received awards in five areas of work and were under the direction of six different teachers. The award-winning projects were entered in the state finals, and once again, won many honors. The boys who received awards were Bob Bauer '65, Bruce Chalupnik '68, Everett Gaare '67, Tyler Giles '67, Scott Graser '68, Frank Holthouse '66, Gerald Keag '65, Tom Koter '65, George Mandel '68, Brent
Menger '66, Jack Mountford '65, Al Norton '65, Richard Ruth '66, LeRoy Schnur '65, John Shunk '66, Ray Spantikow '65, Bob Sternberg '68, and Jim Vrastiak '65.

Maine West had a team in the Plymouth-Chrysler trouble shooting contest, and had a sure third place. However, a technicality disqualified the team. Jim Leis '65, and Ken Bluhm '65, comprised the team which was also honored on Awards Night.

Ken Boehm '66, received first place in Illinois and fifth place in the nation in the Lincoln Arc Welding Contest. He was recognized and presented awards at this occasion.
