Record Hop

A record hop will be held on Oct. 14th, after school in C-wing gym. All members of the student body are invited to attend.

Ethel Koehler '65, chairman of the Organizations Committee in Student Council, said that the hop will follow the western theme of Homecoming Week. The names of the five seniors who will be on the Homecoming Queen court will be announced at the record hop. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

"Any student who wishes to provide records for dancing is welcome to bring them," said Ethel.

"West Winds" The sixth annual Maine West

Homecoming Dance, "West Winds," will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17th, in the cafeteria.

Tickets for the dance will be sold during all lunch periods for $1.75 per couple. "No tickets will be sold at the door," said Kent Lashway '65, chairman of ticket sales.

"This year's Homecoming looks as if it will be the best yet," said Mark Sorenson, Senior Class president, "and the dance will be a perfect climax to the week's activities."

The highlight of the evening's activities will be the official crowning of the 1965 Homecoming Queen.

According to Mr. Larry Collister, Student Council sponsor, an error was made on the preliminary ballot by which the names of two nominees were inadvertently omitted. Mr. Collister said, "Running an election of this scope is a clerical task of some size. The error that was made was unintentional, but it seems the only way to remedy the injustice done the girls whose names were omitted is to list their names among the semi-finalists, since time limitations make a second election impossible. I apologize for the error and trust that everyone will realize the election is being conducted in good faith."
