Boehm Takes Prize in Contest

| Ken Boehm '66, recently won fifth place and a $50 award in the national welding contest sponsored by the James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation. The contest was held to recognize outstanding achievements in schools throughout the country in the field of industrial education. As part of the contest requirements, Ken submitted an original essay and a detailed drawing of his plans which explain the purposes and uses of his project. | Ken's prize-winning project was an all-purpose welding table which will be used for welding instruction in the Maine West metal shop. The table was built by Ken under the supervision of Mr. Roy Hulfachor, industrial education teacher here at Maine West. According to Mr. Hulfachor, Ken has become an outstanding oxyacetylene and tungsten inert gas welder as well as an excellent arc welder. |
