| Sandy Kunkel not only started the New Year off with a bang seventeen years ago, but also started a very rewarding senior year by being crowned Maine's 1965 Homecoming Queen. Sandy stands 5 feet 21/4 inches high, has hazel eyes, and brown hair, and belongs to the nickname 'Kunk'. "People who don't cheer at the games, and just stand around looking for friends," is her pet peeve. Sandy believes the most outstanding thing about Maine is the friendliness of the students toward each other. She has been an active member of Student Council for four years and is a member of Brotherhood Society and Pep Council. She also has been a cheerleader since her freshman year and is now a senior leader. |
In her spare time, which is very seldom, Sandy likes to drive around in the family car or take a nice peaceful nap. Sandy's favorite pastimes are dancing, playing records, eating lobster, meeting new people, and enjoying her pet poodle 'Taphi' who also takes up much of her time. When asked what she would like to do to improve herself, Sandy replied, "I would like to change my study habits." This year Sandy is taking Spanish and French and hopes to major in foreign languages when she goes to college. She intends to attend either Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., or Northwestern. |
