Foster child writes letter from viet nam

(Editor's note: The following letter was mailed from Saigon by the Student Council foster child. Hoang Nhut My is eight years old.)

Dear foster parents,

Time flies and summer is over and cool autumn is here bringing with it many happiness to my family. My family and I pray the Lord to bless you and all your family with happiness and gay always.

I received from you on last July 28th the cash grant, one school bag for me to go to school, and one bar of soap. I was very happy to receive them.
Last Sunday my father allowed me and my siblings to go to the zoo to amuse ourselves. We have seen birds, fishes,

bears, tigers, and lions, and when we came and looked at the elephant, my father bought one piastre of sugar cane for it to eat. He then told the elephant to kneel down and to salute and it did.

I have many things to tell you, but will write them next time. I hope that you will write me many letters. I thank you very much.

Respectfully, Hoang Nhut My
