Homecoming chairman has been hectic for ethel

The job of organizations chairman of Student Council has been a pretty hectic one for Ethel Koehler '65, so far this year.

Being chairman of organizations automatically made Ethel chairman of Homecoming. Ethel and her committee of other Student Council members had frequent meetings to plan for Homecoming. This year the committee made Homecoming a whole week instead of just the day of the football game.
The theme of Homecoming was "How the West Will Win," and honor the coaches day, honor the players day, and spirit day all tied into this theme. Ethel said more clubs had participated in Homecoming by building floats.

When asked if she liked the job of Homecoming chairman, Ethel said, "I did enjoy it, but I would do it differently if I had to do it again. It felt good to think I was doing something for my school." Ethel's opinion of the outstanding thing at Maine West is the courses it offers, and her most exciting experience was her last 'day in physics.
