| "Sports are really fun. Anybody who goes out for a sport makes a man of himself," says Bill, "Rosie", Rosenbergh. The mighty warrior stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 248 pounds. Bill's real name, William Oscar, is a family tradition. Bill has two letters in track and one in Wrestling, and has played football for four years. Because of previous injuries, both ankles and his right knee are taped. "Rosie" can perhaps be dubbed as Maine's official "mummified monster." Wrestling is his favorite sport. His most thrilling athletic achievement took place while wrestling. In last year's Deerfield meet the score was 19-17 Deerfield's favor. Bill had to insure the team victory. He won by decision and Maine defeated Deerfield 20-19. |
Moving to Des Plaines just before his freshman year, Bill previously lived in Chicago near Riverview Park for 13 years. People walking down the wrong side of the hall is one of Bill's pet peeves. When asked how he manages to keep up with his studies, Bill replied, "It's easy, I don't have many studies." Bill, who is on the school's work program, is a stock boy at Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. Bill hopes to obtain an ath-letic scholarship and go on to MacMurray College. He feels kids are "great" and would like to become a physical education teacher for junior high boys. |
