Thinclads Travel To DF Tonight

Tonight at 4:30 the varsity cross country squad travels to Deerfield for the annual Conference meet. Seven runners from each school take part in the mammoth race which counts as half of the Conference standings. If Maine captures first in the meet, they cinch at least a tie for the title. From all indications, however, the Warriors should not be challenged for this year's top spot.

On October 20th, Maine West won its 10th consecutive meet and strengthened its Conference standing. Deerfield was the newest opponent to fall. The harriers won by another strong score of 19 to 43. The first 10 runners were Greco, 10:16; Weinert (D), 10:22; Schiegel, 10:36; Kinder, 10:37, Lusk, 10:41; La Babie, 10:44; Flurkey, 10:46; Winkelman (D), 10:47; Kehrer, 10:53; and: Johnston;e, 10:57.
Forest View Falls

Congratulations are due to the team for its Forest View victory last Friday. Forest View's harriers were also undefeated and the teams and coaches predicted that, no matter who won, the score would. be close. Maine West's spirit and the swiftness of the thinclads carried the harriers to a 19-42 victory over Forest View. John Greco finished first with a time of 10:12, the fastest run on the course this year. The harriers' victory over Forest View puts them undefeated in first place in the Conference standings.

On October 13th, the harriers had an away meet against GB North. Maine West again won by a score of 19 to 42. Greco's first place time of 9:42 set a new record for the GB North course for this year.
